Join our friend artist/designer Rose Pearlman as she teaches a modern and sustainable take on the traditional art of rug hooking.

The United States generates 2.5 billion pounds of textile waste every year. With this awareness, Rose will be teaching how to make a one-of-a-kind bag from start to finish using recycled t-shirts as the main material for the project.

In the session you will learn the best way to prepare the fiber and the essentials of Rug Hooking/Punch Needle work, plus how to stitch and finish the pouch on the sewing machine and by hand. The best part? You'll leave with the knowledge and skills required to make many more projects at home.

Class fee includes a kit with most supplies including a reusable 7-inch hoop that is yours to keep. An Amy Oxford size 10 punch needle is required to participate in the workshop, but if you already own one please feel to bring along with a t-shirt or tank top made from jersey. We'll also be serving light refreshments.

All experience levels are welcome and no previous experience is necessary!
