This product is currently sold out.
Join weaver and textile artist Kayla Powers for the second day of her Natural Dye + Weaving weekend intensive.
In this workshop, Kayla will teach how to warp a table-top rigid heddle loom and then we will begin to weave with naturally dyed materials, learning different techniques on the loom and exploring texture, pattern and design.
Students will leave with the knowledge and skills to create a finished weaving. No previous experience necessary.
All equipment and materials will be provided including a rigid-heddle loom that is yours to keep! The Cricket Loom is compact, well-made and super capable! Superiorly engineered by Schacht Spindle Co., the Cricket is made of high-quality, unfinished apple ply and hard maple. It comes with an 8-dent reed, a threading hook, warping peg, table clamps, two shuttles, and two balls of yarn.
We'll be working on a 15-inch Cricket, which is compact enough to take along but is wide enough to make scarves, wraps, table runners, and placemats. Or try sewing together 15-inch strips of fabric for beautiful woven blankets. For new weavers or weavers on-the-go, the Cricket is the perfect choice! ($199 retail value.) Light refreshments will be served.
